Coaching School Officials to Unlock School Safety Potential

Interesting article about the current state of firearms in Indiana schools. Lawmakers authorized school staff to carry firearms over ten years ago, without any training protocols. However, a new opt-in firearms training program was created in 2023, allowing schools to apply for funding as long as they meet state training curriculum requirements. Seven school districts in the state received this funding. The article addresses both sides of the argument and highlights the importance of tailoring safety and security mandates to each unique community.
